A letter from the Director.

Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.
— Proverbs 22:6 (ESV)

The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. Building on that analogy, the completion of a journey is simply an amalgamation of tens of thousands of steps repeated over time, traversing ground from point A to point B. However, as we all know, the ability to finish a journey – both arriving at the desired location and in the right condition upon arrival – is not simply the result of putting one foot in front of the other. It requires constant evaluation of course and fitness. It requires support to restore depleted supplies and provide guidance when in unfamiliar territory. And most importantly – it requires a knowledge of the destination and a true desire to reach that place no matter the odds or cost.

For Christians, that “destination” is Jesus. Parents want to lead in the manner Christ would have them lead. They want their children to know the Lord and honor Him with their lives – irrespective of their age, ability, or circumstance. They want to know that once their children are required to stand on their own two feet and make decisions independently, they will possess a Biblical worldview that elicits a Christ-like response vs. a worldly, secular response – no matter what that may cost them by earthly accounting.

While those noble aspirations are likely shared by many Christian parents, walking that out in practice and instilling those values into our children is a very difficult proposition in our current society. You can (and should!) read the Bible and pray with your family every day, attend church every Sunday, and serve regularly, but still you find that the influence of the world – especial in the realm of modern public education – is very difficult to counterbalance. As Voddie Baucham once said: 'We cannot continue to send our children to Caesar for their education and be surprised when they come home as Romans.”

That reality serves as the genesis for and mission statement of Freedom Academy. We are an institution that desires to come alongside parents in support of their mission to raise children with strong critical thinking skills and a Biblical worldview. We do this by focusing on a partnership with parents – sharing the teaching responsibilities and execution of daily activities. Through our three lanes of focus – exemplary academics, instillation of Biblical values, and emphasis on American patriotism – we will help raise up a generation of students who will not just be respectful individuals and informed citizens. They will also be warriors for the Kingdom of God.

Raising children is the most important responsibility we have, but it isn’t easy. That is by design, as God expects all of us to work together shouldering the mantle of training future leaders. That is what sets Freedom Academy apart. We don’t just want to educate your children. We also want to equip them to experience Christ’s freedom in their everyday lives and teach them the same message Paul shared two thousand years ago to his spiritual son, young Timothy: “Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.” — 1st Timothy 4:12 (NIV)

Thank you for your interest in Freedom Academy. We would love the opportunity to partner with you in raising up the next generation of leaders for our community, our nation, and most importantly – the Kingdom of God.
